The Wednesdays Wars
I highly recommend The Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt. It is a Newbery Honor Book. It is a first person narrative told by a middle school student. You will laugh, cry, and turn pages quickly to find out what happens next. This could be a young adult or realistic fiction book. Enjoy.

This sounds great! I love exploring emotions through text and it seems this book helps explore a lot! I will definetly be writing down the title. It is good too, because I need both a young adult and a realistic fiction, so it is good this book could be either!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
This sounds like a great book for middle school students or students who are going into middle school. They will probably be able to identify with the narrator, which will keep them interested in reading the book.
ReplyDeleteIt really sound very interesting especially for children in fifth and upper grade.Especially those that like to explore excitment and emotions will definately will have fun.
ReplyDeleteI read it, and I absolutely loved it. What an amazing book! I read it aloud to my fiance (we drove to Canada last weekend) and both of us cried a few times! It's very powerfully written. It took me a few chapters to really get into it, but once I did, there was no going back. If any of you still need to read more realistic fiction or young adult books, you really should think about reading this one. It's a winner.
ReplyDeleteAccording to my fiance' this book is worth reading. He emphazised that the story deals with issues that many teens face such as: class (socio economic), religion and friendship. I cannot wait to read this story. I have been so busy that, I have not gotten the pleasure to read it.
